COLUMBIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY SPONSORS KIDS NIGHT OUT

Children's Event Will Feature Waterslides, Moonwalks, and Dunking Booth

CSU will be sponsoring the third annual "KIDS" Night Out on August 4 at the Orange Beach Waterfront Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Orange Beach Police Department is hosting the event and many local businesses will be sponsoring.

This is a free, family activity open to all children up to age 13. Parents must accompany children to this event. Activities will include a dunking booth, water slides, moon walks, and other activities, so children should come prepared to get wet. Dunking booths will be supplied and kids will have the chance to dunk Chief Billy Wilkins and Assistant Chief Greg Duck. Hot dogs and drinks will also be provided.

The "KIDS" Night Out event will serve as a child safety event educating children and parents on the how to stay safe in today’s world. The Orange Beach Police Department will be collecting DNA mouth swab samples, finger print cards and a photo of each child. A file will be kept at the Orange Beach Police Department and renewed each year.

In 2005, CSU began a partnership with the Orange Beach Police Department and has enrolled six police officers and department employees in the completely online degree programs. With this partnership, employees of the Orange Beach Police Department receive a tuition discount and application fee waiver that extends to their spouses and children.
