United States Distance Learning Association Showcases Online Education November 10th to 14th
This week online universities and colleges across the U.S. will be celebrating National Distance Learning Week. The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) is sponsoring the celebration and will be conducting online webinars demonstrating different aspects of distance learning and showcasing various institutions. The free webinars can be accessed on the National Distance Learning Week website at www.ndlw.org.
"National Distance Learning Week is particularly important to Columbia Southern University (CSU) as one of the nation's first completely online universities," said Robert Mayes, CSU President. "We currently serve more than 15,000 students in all 50 states and several countries who can achieve their dreams of higher education thanks to distance learning."
Among the most rapidly growing online institutions in the U.S., CSU offers completely online associate, bachelor, master, doctoral, and certificate programs in a variety of fields including business administration, fire science, criminal justice, information technology, health care administration and more.
According to the Sloan Consortium, more than 3.5 million students are enrolled in online courses or working towards an online degree. Enrollment in online educational programs is increasing at a rate of 9.7 percent – more than eight percent higher than that of overall university and college growth.
